Mermaid Pools - Pool Opening Terms & Conditions
Thank you for taking the time to book your service with Mermaid Pools.
BEFORE finalizing your booking, please take the time to review the terms and conditions listed below.
We kindly ask that ALL pets remain indoors while our technicians are on site.
For all visits the technicians must have unobstructed access to the yard upon arrival, if access is not available the service will not be provided and the cost of the visit will be non-refundable, the return visit will be considered an ‘extra’ visit and a minimum trip charge of $95.00(+hst) will apply.
For the opening of the pool, all equipment required for the opening and operation of the pool must be visible and accessible upon arrival. This includes all equipment that was removed when the pool was closed, such as the skimmer basket, skimmer gasket, lights (if removed), return eyeballs/return flange, t-cell / ionizer.
If the pool was closed by Mermaid, the pump basket should have the parts for equipment (in pump).
It is the customer’s responsibility to top up the water after the pool has been opened and prior to any follow-up visits. Once the water has been raised, we ask that customers run their system for a minimum of 48 hours to allow for any chemical(s) to properly circulate and maximize the effectiveness of the chemical treatment. Following this, we recommend taking a water sample to either of our store locations for a free water test and full report detailing what is needed to address any remaining imbalances with water chemistry.
Upon arrival, If the water and/or pool are in poor condition (ex: pools that have turned green, pools that have excessive debris, pools that are excessively cloudy etc.) our technician(s) will advise the customer of the best course of action to address the issue. If the customer is not on site, a member of our staff will reach out to provide the details, a proposed date for the follow-up and any charges that may apply.
If conditions in the yard contradict the information provided at the time of booking, the contractor(s) will attempt to complete the service to the best of his abilities.
Replacement parts and additional chemicals are not quoted as part of the opening and are chargeable. If the technician notices any deficiencies or problems with your equipment, they will do their best to correct them, however, any issues that cannot be resolved at the opening will be noted by the technician and one of our staff will reach out to you to advise of the cost of any replacement or repairs required and a proposed date for the follow-up visit.
If you did not select the option to accept additional charges, the technician will note any damage(s) or deficiencies and the information will be provided to you and noted on the final invoice. You would then be responsible for requesting additional service to address these issues.
